Navigable river networks, as well as established roads, including important bridges, are noted. The surrounding communities, all of which are now part of greater Manila, are named. The map offers superb detail of the Manila area, including outlines of important fortifications in Manila itself and Cavite. A Closer LookThe map embraces all of modern-day metro-Manila, from Cavite to roughly Baras, and from Bulacan to Talim Island. This is the first specific map of a Philippine province, compiled as part of Ildefonso, and the Deposito's flagship effort to bring structured modern survey techniques to the archipelago.
