Remember that “unsupported” isn’t the same thing as “it doesn’t work,” but rather it means “we won’t help you if it doesn’t.” And if the game is specifically crashing/not working on all steam decks (and not just this guy’s because he changed something about it or whatever) then clearly there is some hardware or software difference rendering it incompatible. While there may be ways around this, they will be unofficial and unsupported and thus the device itself is and should be unsupported. Ultimately, while it may be able to run windows and meets the basic requirements, the device itself is inherently incompatible with the game due to its design, not its specs. But there are still elements of the system that are custom, including the input devices (which, despite your insistance that it’s “not relevant”, is hardware that isn’t compatible with the game and therefore won’t work without workarounds like joy2key or the mechanisms that the steam deck’s OS may provide) Yes, its core specs do exceed requirements. You could make this case, sure, but doing so doesn’t support the logic you’ve been suing. “Does not support” does not mean “Will not work.” It means “The company will not nor is under any obligation to help you make it work.” Basic AI was so primitive AMAI was much, much better. Would be cool if Blizzard implemented this in Reforged version instead of basic AI for melee maps. U could use commands or tell AI to execute certain tactic. If you’re using unsupported hardware, no matter how similar it may be to supported devices, the game may work or may not and support will not help you. Do u remember AMAI for warcraft 3 It was an advanced AI for melee maps, much better than the original one. But in this case, the game/editor will not. An at-minimum slightly specialized device that doesn’t exactly recreate the envrionment on a regular PC (well, not without wiping it and installing Windows on it). When you are running the World Editor or the Warcraft III: Reforged application in the Classic Graphics rendering mode, any model file (whether custom imported, or normal built-in) that requires the advanced Reforged render technologies will be totally invisible when you attempt to view it. Regardless, Blizzard nor anyone else is under any obligation to support the Steam Deck. Destiny 2 IIRC is even banning people who attempt to play the game on it. Some devs have, as I mentioned before, explicitly declared it unsupported. Yes, at least one person has clearly tried, but there is no way you’re going to perform at the same level. There’s absolutely no way you can play this game properly with gamepad controls. Not the least of which is its lack of a mouse and keyboard. There are differences between it and a regular PC. Look, there’s no point debating just how specialized it is. You may argue the differences are small, but the fact remains there are differences. It’s not just because of DirectX, it’s a variety of factors. While some might argue that Blizzard has the right to do this given it is happening on their official forums and all, it doesn’t look good on them for sure.ĭo you think Blizzard has the right to ban users and that if gamers want a refund they should do it outside the studio’s official forums? Or should gamers and buyers have the right to talk negatively about the game and what the best course is in terms of getting their money back if they’re not satisfied with the product? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.Blame Microsoft for DirectX being proprietary. We’ve contacted Blizzard about this and will update the post if we hear anything back. Multiple reports have surfaced that Blizzard is actively banning people on the official Warcraft forums for helping other people get a Warcraft 3 Reforged refund!Įven on the Warcraft 3 subreddit, users have jumped in regarding this ban wave, with one user stating that Blizzard doesn’t want to talk about refunds on the forums in the first two hours of launch.Ĭhecking the official Warcraft 3 forums, you’ll see a lot of disgruntled customers and gamers all chiming in with negativity.
